Our client is seeking a seasoned Job Captain to work on a variety of mid and high rise residential and mixed-use projects. This individual will have the opportunity to work alongside key members of the practice assisting as a team leader and mentoring staff.
As a Job Captain you are responsible for the day-to-day organization, development and coordination of Construction Documentation. Job Captains work directly with Project Architects from Design Development to completion of Construction Documents.
Key Responsibilities:- Document and coordinate drawing packages from Design Development, into Permitting, Tendering and through to Issued for Construction
- Develop architectural plans, elevations, sections and details, and review the work of others
- Work closely with the Project Architect to coordinate project team members and consultants
- Apply knowledge of construction practices and methods to ensure design intent
- Keeping up to date on construction practices, products, codes and technology
- Work with Contract Administrator during construction to assist in the review of Shop Drawings and preparation of Site Instructions
Desired Qualifications:
- University Degree in Architecture or Diploma in Architectural Technology or current OAA member
- 5+ years of related architecture experience; mid and high-rise residential, mixed-use experience would be considered an asset
- Proficiency in the following software:
- AutoCad and/or REVIT
- SketchUp
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Working knowledge and/or interest in other BIM and 3D modelling software and tools would be an asset.
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Proficiency with Ontario Building Systems and Ontario Building Code
- Strong relationship building skills
- Strong leadership skills, possess ability to lead and mentor junior & intermediate team members
- Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
- Site Experience would be an asset.
