- Description
Our client is a fast-growing professional services firm known for delivering strategic, high-impact tax advice in complex transactions. As part of their expansion, they are seeking a Senior Manager to join their M&A Tax Advisory team.
In this role, you’ll work closely with clients ranging from private equity firms to multinational corporations, advising on the tax implications of acquisitions, divestitures, and other corporate transactions. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute across the full deal lifecycle — from upfront diligence through to structuring and execution — while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of tax professionals.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a deal-driven environment and is passionate about helping clients uncover value and mitigate risk in fast-moving, high-stakes situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support tax due diligence engagements, including review of financial and tax data, coordination with client teams, and identification of tax exposures
- Prepare client-ready diligence reports and deliverables summarizing key risks, findings, and recommendations
- Contribute to and draft detailed tax structuring plans for both domestic and cross-border deals, including transaction step plans, structure charts, and analysis of relevant tax implications
- Conduct technical tax research and analysis using industry-standard tools and databases
- Build and refine tax models, including calculations of deal-related taxes and after-tax cash flow impacts
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality and responsiveness
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including legal advisors, finance teams, and deal professionals
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field
- Completion or near-completion of a CPA or equivalent designation; legal background also considered
- 3–5 years of experience in tax advisory, preferably with exposure to transaction work
- Familiarity with data room review processes, M&A diligence protocols, and reporting standards
- Strong ability to interpret Canadian tax legislation and apply it in a transactional context
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-focused approach
- Demonstrated strength in project management, organization, and analysis
- Eagerness to grow within a high-performing, entrepreneurial tax practice focused on deal strategy
This is a dynamic, high-visibility opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role within a fast-paced and rewarding area of tax advisory.
