Our Client, is looking for a Treasury Senior Analyst to join their team on a contract basis that has a good potential for long term opportunity. The Senior Analyst, Treasury is responsible for supporting the Director and Senior Manager in all facets of the Treasury department’s Financing Planning, Liquidity Management, Rating Agency engagement, Covenant compliance, and Benchmarking and key Guardrails that Treasury operates within. This position will also support the organization’s Capital Market activities, as required. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to meet our strategic objectives.
About the Role:
Planning and Budgeting:
- Support the Senior Manager in the preparation of the overall financing plan, as well as the updated current year forecasts for financing and liquidity management, working closely with FP&A, and maintaining and enhancing the Treasury models utilized for this initiative.
- Support Treasury efforts and engagement for modelling of capital raises and Rating Agency exit metrics.
- Support the preparation of the overall financing plan and strategy for the organization as part of the three-year plan.
Rating Agency Support:
- Support the Director and Senior Manager in meeting the 4 Credit Rating Agencies that our client and its various subsidiaries use, including S&P, Moody’s, Fitch and DBRS.
- Research and help build institutional knowledge on key rating agency metrics to maintain existing ratings.
- Support the Director and Senior Manager in the annual reviews by providing forecasts, presentations, and supporting documentation to the Rating Agencies.
- Support efforts to stay apprised and up to date on Industry trends and changes to the rating agencies methodologies that may impact our organization, including key ESG metrics and criteria.
Benchmarking and Key Guardrails:
- Support Treasury Benchmarking activities and maintenance of key Guardrails and updating monthly forecasts and Peer analysis to ensure adherence to thresholds such as Fixed to Floating Ratio, average liquidity, % Maturing Debt, etc.
- Support Continuous benchmarking to Peers on key Guardrails to ensure organization and its subsidiaries are in line with Peers and industry standards.
- Lead and support the upkeep of an IRR model and slip sheet to ensure clear understanding of all financing instruments and cost of capital.
Other:
- Supporting all aspects of capital market transactions for Debt or Equity securities, as required.
- Supporting various activities in the Treasury Operations area such as Cash Management, Systems, and Compliance.
- Support Treasury due diligence process for potential acquisitions.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in an analytical role
- University Degree in Business or Commerce
- CPA or working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Prior experience with corporate finance, accounting, M&A due diligence, deal advisory, investment banking and/or other relevant financing experience.
- Very strong MS Excel financial modelling skills with 3+ years of demonstrable experience developing, managing and enhancing complex financial models. Experience in Visual Basics is an asset.
- Experience with ERP systems (i.e., SAP/SAC) is considered an asset.
- Poise, presence and professionalism to communicate to senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the confidence to question and enhance current processes.
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and meet strict deadlines, while maintaining strong attention to detail.
