- Description
We’re looking for a Senior Estimator to take the lead on preparing competitive cost estimates, budgets, and proposals for complex underground mining, engineering, and construction projects. You’ll work closely with project teams to define methodologies, assess feasibility, and ensure submissions meet both client and company standards.
What You’ll Do
Lead the development of bids, cost estimates, and resource plans from concept through to submission.
Use first-principles estimating to determine productivity rates, equipment needs, and manpower requirements.
Review and refine estimates prepared by colleagues.
Create detailed methodology statements, production schedules, and cash flow forecasts.
Prepare feasibility studies, baseline budgets, and cost control strategies.
Conduct site visits to gather data and validate conditions.
Maintain supplier pricing databases and produce supporting technical drawings when required.
Support projects through execution with ongoing cost tracking and reporting.
What You Bring
Degree or diploma in Mine Engineering or a related field.
6+ years’ experience estimating underground mine development projects.
Knowledge of construction estimating best practices.
Proficiency in InEight Estimate (Hard Dollar) and Primavera P6.
Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe skills.
Excellent organization, communication, and time management abilities.
Work Environment
Office-based with periodic travel to project sites.
Field visits may involve outdoor work, uneven terrain, and variable weather conditions.
