- Description
We are seeking an Intermediate to Experienced Electrical Engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of small to mid-sized projects while contributing to multidisciplinary teams on larger, more complex assignments. This role involves system design, documentation, and technical coordination throughout the project lifecycle, including occasional work on site.
What You Will Do
- Lead electrical design work for modest-scale projects and serve as a key contributor on major initiatives
- Develop engineered solutions for power distribution, emergency power systems and other building electrical infrastructure. Familiarity with solar and energy storage systems is considered a plus
- Create design concepts and documentation using Revit, AutoCAD, and related tools, while supporting modelling and mark-ups for junior engineers
- Produce and revise drawings, diagrams, and technical details across all project phases
- Facilitate coordination across internal disciplines, external consultants, contractors, and clients
- Participate in scope discussions, value engineering, and preliminary cost analysis
- Support budget, schedule, and resource planning for project deliverables
- Prepare technical specifications in alignment with construction documents
- Perform electrical calculations using industry software and review the work of colleagues to maintain quality standards
- Contribute to constructability reviews, QA/QC, and continuous improvement of design processes
- Balance multiple assignments with accountability for deadlines and deliverable accuracy
What You Bring
- Strong background preparing contract documents for building electrical systems
- Experience across sectors such as commercial, industrial, institutional, government or transportation considered beneficial
- Good working knowledge of Canadian and provincial electrical and building codes
- Understanding of the coordination between drawings and specifications
- Practical awareness of materials, installation practices, and industry guidelines
- Ability to mentor others, review work thoroughly, and manage your time effectively
- Clear verbal and written communication capabilities, including client-facing meetings or presentations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and BIM platforms including Revit.
- Familiarity with lighting and power system analysis software is advantageous
- Interest in supporting proposal efforts or client development activities
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineer registration (P.Eng.)
- At least six years of design experience with building electrical systems
- Minimum three years working with Canadian code compliance
- LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications such as PMP, LC, or RCDD are considered assets
