Our client is a global distributor of the most innovative architectural products. They provide an extensive line of products to architects, designers, and contractors for both interior and exterior applications from the best manufacturers across Europe and North America.
They are seeking an Assistant controller to join the company in a newly created role to help support the existing Controller with their scope of work. Initially the role will involve invoicing and billing responsibilities to help you learn more about the operations of the business and their client base, then you’ll be taking over responsibilities from an existing external accountant who has been supporting the company, as well as working on any ad hoc projects alongside the existing controller too.
Please note, this is an in-office position located in Brampton. This is a small business with a great family-oriented culture with the majority of staff being in the office for 5 days per week.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Preparing customer invoices
- Support with the preparation and analysis of financial reports
- Identify and strengthen internal control deficiencies as well as managing existing internal controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Prepare and present monthly management reports to Senior Management – providing analytical commentary explaining the company’s performance
- Provide support wit the budgeting and forecasting process
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments.
Required experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or finance
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting or financial management position
- At least 2 years’ exposure to HR processes and people management
- Motivated individual that can inspire and manage staff
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Experience working with Senior Management
- Extremely organized with high attention to detail and analytical abilities
