About the Opportunity
We are supporting a fast growing professional services firm that is expanding its corporate tax practice. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys client ownership, technical problem solving, and leading teams. You will work across a diverse group of clients, help them plan and manage their business income tax requirements, and oversee corporate income tax compliance and tax provision work.
You will be supported by strong internal resources, national technical experts, and a collaborative team that values learning, autonomy, and professional growth.
What You Will Do
• Manage corporate tax engagements from planning to completion
• Lead, coach, and mentor senior associates and associates while overseeing day to day work
• Review corporate tax returns and identify planning opportunities and tax saving strategies
• Conduct primary review of income tax provision engagements under ASC 740
• Advise clients on business income tax matters and respond to tax authority inquiries
• Research complex corporate tax issues and prepare written recommendations
• Build strong relationships with clients and gain a deep understanding of their operations and goals
• Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients
• Collaborate with internal specialty groups, including tax advisory, transfer pricing, and technical experts
• Participate in professional development and stay current on tax legislation and emerging trends
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professional standardsWhat You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or JD with active law license
• Four to seven years of progressive experience in corporate tax
• Strong technical skills in corporate income tax and ASC 740
• Experience reviewing and preparing corporate income tax returns
• Knowledge of federal, provincial, and state income tax rules
• Familiarity with taxation of international operations and transfer pricing is an asset
• Excellent analytical and research skills
• Strong client service mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently
• Experience supervising and coaching junior staff
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
• Proficiency with tax software and MS Office
